Heather Scott, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker | On-Call Firefighter


Heather completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2012 and her Master of Social Work at Western University in 2016. For over a decade, she provided crisis intervention and solution-focused support to families. In 2024, she transitioned into private practice to improve access to mental health and wellness services in rural communities.


Alongside her clinical work, Heather has served as a a paid-on-call firefighter since 2017 and currently holds the rank of Training Officer. In 2024, she was appointed Lead of the Middlesex County Wellness Committee (MCWC), where she works to support consistent and effective mental health and wellness programming for rural fire departments across the county. Through this work, Heather identified a significant gap in dedicated mental health and wellness services for paid-on-call firefighters, leading to the creation of Scott Wellness Services in 2026.


Heather’s clinical training includes Mental Health First Aid, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Indigenous Cultural Safety, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE), Mind-Body Medicine, and Agriculture Informed Therapy.


Her fire service qualifications include NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II, NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations, NFPA 1002 Pump Operations, and NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I & II. She is also trained in Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR), Resilient Minds Train-the-Trainer, and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) for both individual and group crisis intervention.


Heather’s combined clinical expertise and lived experience as a rural paid-on-call firefighter position her to provide support that is accessible, practical, and meaningful.
