Scott Wellness Services - Critical Incident Support

Critical incident support provides early intervention and recovery support for volunteer / paid-on-call firefighters following stressful or traumatic calls. Services are provided by an experienced paid-on-call firefighter and mental health professional.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Defusing | $200 + HST

Defusing is a group intervention delivered within 12-24 hours of a critical incident to support early stabilization. This 30–60 minute session focuses on initial reactions, immediate stress responses, and short-term stabilization, with connection to additional supports as needed.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) | $600 + HST

Debriefing is a group intervention delivered 24–72 hours after a critical incident to support processing and recovery. This 1.5–3 hour session includes reviewing factual aspects of the incident, exploring thoughts and reactions, and normalizing stress responses. Debriefing is delivered by a mental health professional in collaboration with peer supporters where applicable.

Travel outside Middlesex County is billed at the current CRA mileage rate.
